Prey is a free download that allows you to track your laptop after it has been stolen, with the ultimate aim of getting it back.

Prey may just be the most awesome piece of open source software out there. Sure it doesn't guarantee anything but it goes a long way to helping out, I especially like the part in which you can take a photo of the culprit so you know who to focus your hate on
