It is still unknown whether or not this is a spoof, ingame cutscenes or a viral teaser of more to come.

It has been confimed by Jeri Ryan (actress who plays 7 of 9 in Voyager and Sonya in this trailer) that this trailer was indeed made to convince Warner Brothers to give Mortal Kombat a movie reboot
